Experience Suriname in 15 days by visiting the most attractive places. Go thru swamps with water birds, walk thru jungle and visit a maroon village.

Day 1 Arrive at the Johan Adolf Pengel International airport. Transfer with guide and ac bus to hotel.

Day 2 The tour begins with a city tour that will learn you more about the wooden city of Paramaribo which has listed since 2002 on the world heritage list of UNESCO. A Mosque beside a Synagogue is nevertheless making this city very unique.

Day 3 By boat you will sail along the plantations Johanna and Margreta. Trough the swamp area with mangrove vegetation and lots of water birds as the Scarlet Ibis you reach Matapica Nature Reserve. In the evening you will spot sea turtles laying their eggs.

Day 4 After lunch return to Paramaribo.

Day 5 At Berg en Dal you will explore the amazone jungle in a very particular manner like kayaking, canopy-line and hiking. After this adventure we proceed to Brownsberg Nature Park. Overnight will be in hammocks.

Day 6 A hike thru the highland jungle to the Irene- and Leo falls. Also enjoy splendid views from the mountaintop to see the Brokopondo Lake. The change to spot several animals is big.

Day 7 After breakfast we leave for the Upper Suriname Area. This trip will be partly done by canoe. This day is just for relaxing, swimming or enjoying the sound of the amazone jungle while lying in your hammock. 

Day 8 A jungle walk and visiting some villages are the few activities for today. Each maroon village is situated nearby a river, so you can swim fish, sail or just relax in a hammock. This night you will enjoy maroon culture.

Day 9 You leave of the Upper Suriname area to Paramaribo.

Day 10 Day for Leisure.

Day 11 A visit to the only butterfly farm in the Caribbean, the handcrafts of the local people and we will cool down in one of the many black water creeks we have in Suriname.  

Day 12 A district tour to: Saramacca with Groningen, Coronie, Nickerie with Wageningen. All to the west side of Suriname.  

Day 13 From Nickerie you leave to Bigi Pan.  This area is a protected and you can spot a lot of water birds, crocodiles and sail with a canoe thru mangrove. 

Day 14 By boat you go to district Commewijne, where you can visit plantation Rust en Werk, Braamspunt, the open air museum at Nw. Amsterdam and Fort Amsterdam. We will also spot dolphins.    

Day 15 Departure day

The price given is for overnight in Paramaribo in a guesthouse. For overnight in a Hotel the price will be Euro 1.175, - per person for 2 persons a room. For a single room an additional Euro 75, - will be added. The minimum required participants will be 6.
